Dalby Gästis

Treat yourself to traditional goose, äggakaka (egg cake) and herring as well as local ingredients served with a global twist at this inn that’s been around since 1666. Enjoy a pub menu with wines, the inn’s own beer or locally produced gin while you relax in front of the fire on a Chesterfield sofa in the hunting lounge. After your meal, sleep in the courthouse dating from 1783, or in the hotel with it’s choice of themed green, pink or yellow rooms.

The inn is just a 10-second walk from Dalby bus station and cycling distance from Lund. Visit Dalby church, the oldest stone church in the Nordics, walk around Solberga fruit farm with its apple pear and plum trees, or hike, run or fish at nearby Skryllegården, a large nature and outdoor area.

Brösarp Gästgifveri & Spa

Spend a night or two at an inn that dates back from 1684, either in one of the rooms, or at Mor Almas Stuga (cottage). The inn serves classic Skåne dishes using local ingredients that are that bit fresher, fluffier and healthier at the restaurant. Also don’t miss their äggakaka (egg cake). Before your meal, why not relax in the spa with a massage or dip in one of the inside or outside pools.

Use Brösarps Gästis as a stepping stone to explore the many things Brösarp has to offer: hiking trails, sandy beaches, horse riding, and Brösarps Backar, a sea of sandy hills whose natural beauty has been the subject for many artists.

Äggakaka

Äggakaka (egg cake) is a traditional Skåne dish, similar to a thick, generous pancake. It’s made with a rich batter of eggs, flour, and milk. Traditionally served with crispy fried pork or bacon and tangy lingonberry jam, äggakaka is a perfect way to warm up on a chilly day. Its history traces back to when farmers needed a filling meal for long days in the fields. Enjoy äggakaka for either lunch or dinner.

Spettekaka

Spettekaka, Skåne's iconic pyramid cake, is crafted from a delicate batter of eggs, sugar, and flour. It's traditionally baked on a rotating spit over an open fire. This unique method creates a light, airy texture with a crisp exterior. Spettekaka comes in various sizes, from petite to towering, and flavoured with cardamom or vanilla. A true taste of Skåne’s heritage, spettekaka is a must-try for any visitor truly interested in traditional foods.

Tunneberga Gästgifvaregård

Margretetorp

Named after Queen Margaret of Denmark, the inn dates to the 13th Century, helping travellers on their way to and from Norway. Along with classic local dishes made from ingredients from their own garden, the inn serves wines from their own vineyard in Hungary. Laze in the hot tub or hop into the sauna before your meal.

Magretetorp is a great starting point to explore Hallandsåsen and the Bjäre peninsula with its beautiful views and delightful nature. Walk on the ridge, play tennis swim in the sea, or cycle the nearby trails.

The main course features a roasted goose, served with classic side dishes like boiled potatoes, red cabbage, and apple sauce. Top it off with a traditional dessert of apple pie with vanilla sauce.

Eel feast

Skåne has a long tradition of eel fishing, and the province's east coast is nicknamed "The eel coast". But overfishing and pollution in the Baltic Sea have drastically reduced the eel population. As the species is threatened, eel fishing in Sweden is now subject to strict regulations. In Skåne, some eel fishermen have a special licence to catch a limited number of eels using traditional methods.
