Enjoy fishing at a countryside farm

Skåne has some of Europe's best waters for pike, and the fishing along the coast is top notch. 

Fish pike in the some of Europe’s best waters, or try the excellent fishing along Skåne’s coast. Immeln, the third biggest lake in the region, is lined by stony beaches and has over a hundred small islands, creating the impression of an archipelago in middle of the woods. 

Rent a room at Killeboda gård Bed & Breakfast by the southern end of the lake, or opt for the small cottage by the lake that comes with its own small bridge. Buy fishing permits on site.

If you fancy a relaxing time amidst trees and greenery, try Svenstorp in the village of Sösdala. Spend the night in the comfortable farmhouse and enjoy walks in the beautiful forest or watch the cattle as they graze the meadows. Don’t forget to bring your rubber boots – the grounds can be wet.

Skåne is known as the larder of Sweden and almost 50% of the country's total food production is grown here.  if you want to live on an organic farm, visit Åsgård-Holkestorp outside Tomelilla in south-eastern Skåne. The cosy cottage for rent has its own small porch and kitchen.

There are lots of family-friendly farms in the area, and this website has a large selection to choose from. A lovely example is Borrby Kungsgård with a history from the 13th century. Rent fully equipped accommodation that’s perfect for families next to fields growing organic crops. Children can enjoy toys, trampolines and bikes and they will love cuddling with the farm dogs, cats and rabbits.

Why not take care of the animals?  

There are several farms who let you take care of the animals. One of them is Folkesro outside Simrishamn in eastern Skåne. There is a vast selection of farms offering accommodation and breakfast at reasonable prices. Some are equipped with a kitchen where you can prepare you own meals.  You may need to bring your own linen and towels.
