Comments from the sound guy:

Just when the forest, hiking trail and myself are starting to get along, a new acquaintance introduces itself. A massive bog. Flat, endless, like someone ironed nature and then forgot about it for a thousand years. It’s just laying here in front of me, stretching and yawning. Did I just wake it up?

There’s a tower nearby for the “official view", but I prefer standing right here. Just me, the moss and the horizon. I bet some ancient leather-clad traveller once stood on this exact spot, gnawing on a turnip.

The bog is not here to impress me. No drama. Just a calm stretch of land that sort of sighs at my measly presence. The soundtrack? Wind in the grass, a distant bird and my own slow breathing.

Then the tracks of wild boar told me it was time to go.

My favourite sounds in the recording: The bumblebee passing after 23 seconds. Total jump scare.

41 dB
